How We Help
All applications for a grant from Margaret’s Fund must be made through a supporting professional such as registered charity workers, social care professionals, doctors and specialist nurses, social workers and other advice or key workers. Grant payments can only be made to the supporting professional’s organisation, grants are not paid to an individual or third party.
We only give grants to women who are in financial need and who are in ill health.
Grants are made for:
- Aids for disability
- Extra comforts
- Convalescent holidays
- Clothing
- Extra nourishment
- Extra heating

Margaret’s fund awards around 200 grants each year to women across the UK. The maximum grant awarded is £500.
Margaret’s Fund can make a one-off grant when the eligibility criteria has been met and there are sufficient funds. It is a small organisation and it can take up to six weeks to process applications, but in most instances it is quicker. If you have not received an acknowledgement after 2 weeks, please contact us.
When an application is successful and a grant is made, the cheque or BACS payment from Margaret’s Fund will be facilitated through the supporting professional’s organisation.
Margaret’s Fund regrets we are unable to help with the relief of debt, nor with hire purchase liabilities, repairs and alterations, transport, general/ongoing funding or educational grants.
